BIO

Nsimbe Grace [b. 1998] is a multidisciplinary artist from Busabala in the Central Region of Uganda. He graduated from Kyambogo University School of Art and Industrial Design as a sculptor, finding expression through various materials including metal, wood and canvas etc.

He explores themes of resilience, gloom, joy and strength – with Africa and its complexity as his dominant subject.

For Grace, one’s state of being and mind is expressed in how they show up and their interactions with others. In lieu of this, he borrows from indigenous body art, costumes, traditions and things as mundane as laughter in his works.
